About Stourport on Severn Pistol and Rifle Club
(Section 1)
The club began in
Bonemill Quarry in 1963. Stourport on Severn
Pistol and Rifle Club is a private club managed
by its elected committee for the benefit of its
members, their guest and visitors to promote
enjoyment of the skills of target marksmanship
with firearms. The club has current Home Office
approval and Range Safety Certificate for
Bonemill Range. It is affiliated to the National
Rifle Association, the National Smallbore Rifle
Association, the Muzzle Loaders Association of
Great Britain as well as the Hereford &
Worcester Rifle Association, giving its members
access to the ranges and events provided by
these organisations.
The firearms and
ammunition which may be used on Bonemill Range
are governed by the Range Safety Certificate and
the Home Office Approval. Safe and effective
supervision of live firing is provided by the
Club's qualified Range Officers following the
procedures laid down in the range orders

Target Shooting on
a typical Wednesday morning at the range
The range is
normally opened on Saturdays during the summer
and Sunday and Wednesday mornings throughout the
year. However, it can be opened at any time
provided two full members are present. It is an
outdoor range designated with no danger area,
with forty covered firing points and distances
of 20m, 25 yds., 25m.,50m., and 100yds. There
are six sets of turning targets on moveable
frames. The Club supports individual and team
entries to competition at local, regional and
international levels. The club also seeks to
promote the values of practice in target
marksmanship to the wider community. There is an
annual calendar of events and guest days.
